Other information
  • This cruise tour is an active excursion on the open sea. Depending on sea and wind conditions, the boat may rock significantly.
Minamijima Island does not have a pier. Passengers will be asked to disembark directly onto the rocks of the island from the boat, and then climb a roughly 3-meter cliff. Passengers who are not confident in their physical ability to walk may not be able to disembark for this stop.
  • If you desire transportation from your lodgings to Ogasawara Kanko, please contact Ogasawara Kanko.
  • Passengers for the Full-day Cruise Tour (Plan 1) should prepare a lunch to bring with them at their own expense.
  • Ogasawara Kanko can store luggage for passengers for the Half-day Cruise Tour on the morning of Ogamaru's departure from Chichijima.
  • Please bring swimwear if you plan on joining in the Dolphin Swim or any other activities that involve entering the water. Wetsuits, masks, snorkels, and fins are available to borrow at no additional cost.
  • The whale watching portion of the Full-Day Cruise Tour allows passengers to see humpback whales from December to early April, and sperm whales at all other times. (The Half-day Cruise Tour does not include whale watching from early April through January.)
  • From November through January, we will not be disembarking at Minamijima Island to protect and allow for the recovery of the local environment.
  • Tours may be canceled due to weather or sea conditions.
  • The consumption of alcohol onboard the boat is prohibited. Please do not bring alcoholic beverages onboard.
  • To protect the ecosystem of Minamijima Island, we ask that you clean the bottom of your shoes and remove all dirt and debris or other foreign objects before boarding.
